Mr & Mrs L H Parfitt
Since an early age Leslie has been involved in catering and latterly baking. Mr & Mrs Parfitt opened the first bakery and shop in Milnsbridge in 1970. Both Mr & Mrs Parfitt trained at Huddersfield Technical College in catering. Both have been extremely active in the business for over 37 years and are now semi retired.
They are now learning to take more of a back seat role, but their daughters would not be without them!

The bakery has been established since 1970 with Mr & Mrs L H Parfitt having a catering background and followed on into baking.

Through out the years the business has grown from the one shop and bakery at Milnsbridge to ten shops and the head office and bake house being at Newsome.

Parfitt’s is now run by Mrs H Hinchliffe and Mrs J George (the daughters) with Mr and Mrs Parfitt still taking active roles, however, they are semi retired.

Traditional methods are used to produce a wide range of products, bread, savouries, pasties, fruit pies, fresh cream cakes and confectionery.

Great care is taken in making our products and trying to source good quality ingredients and producing the freshest product possible. The meats for our sandwiches are roasted on the premises three times a week. The Fresh Roast Turkey at Christmas has always proved very popular.

There have been many developments within the company over the past twelve months. Another shop has been acquired at Honley, Slaithwaite shop has had a refit, new lines such as Oaty Bread and fruit tartlets have been introduced. Bake off is now in operation at Moldgreen and Slaithwaite. In the pipeline the front of Honley will be developed for disabled access and the renewal of equipment at all premises to ensure good hygiene practices and the smooth running of the business.

Bake off has now been introduced at Slaithwaite and is fully established at Moldgreen. There is also the future possibility of bake off being installed at Honley when the remainder of the re fit takes place.
